£500 raised on Christmas Run

Chairman Paul Myler paid tribute to those bikers who turneed up and supported the 2011 Bugsplatz Christms Run.  “It was amazing that so many turned out when the future of the event had been thrown into doubt through the change of heart of the authorities since the last run.  Throwing the full weight of responsibility,  safety and liabilty onto the club, riders showed that they can turn out, ride the course and support charities without supervision and incident.  We have shown that we can organise the event in a safe and responsile manner and while we would have liked to have generated more money the public will was clearly behind us, supporting this annual event.”… he continued..”Remember this is about christmas, giving and lookin after those who need it”..”We look forward to next year and are always looking to improve the event so please feel free to make your comments through the website”

This year’s Bugs Ball is being held at the Travellers Joy (www.thetravellersjoy.co.uk) in Horsehay Telford.  Best Bib & Tucker for guys and a nice frock for the girls.  At just £5 a head with Tonto’s Rock Disco and a live band what could be better? To book email Mart at kirkers@talktalk.net . Limit of 150.

This years Christmas run will be on Sunday 18th December starting from Whylie & Holland Motorcycles, Watling Street, Wellington – weather permitting.  See poster below for details.

There will be a different format for the ride this year so please take time to listen to instructions before setting off – it is very important.  The main change is that we will NOT be stopping traffic at islands and lights so make sure you get there in time on the day for a quick briefing to help keep the ride safe and legal.

All helpers are requested to meet at Wylie & Holland 2:00pm Saturday 26th November to be briefed on the changes to the run.  Those who just want to take part need not attend.

Here’s to better weather this year!!

Next year’s Group Holiday is at the early stages of planning but if you like Biker Friendly Hotels, superb locally brewed beer and wine, wall to wall scenery and just a day’s ride from Calais/Dunkirk.

Oberharmasbach is a little village just an hour the far side of Strasbourg in the Black Forest.  Known very well by at least two club members this is a bikers heaven.  Chocolate box villages and houses, rollng pine forest and cuckoo clocks galore!

Watch out for more info as this superb holiday starts to take shape.  We have the hotel, The Bear.  There will be optional day and half day tours of the forest and Alsace mountains, the odd brew and belly splitting food.

Cheap ferry crossings and toll dodging M-Ways and main roads across northern France, Belgium, Luxembourg ….so start dreaming, it’s only 10 months away!!

Expressionsofinterest from Bugs and Buddies welcome now…

…..visit as many Steam Train trusts as possible over the year… To qualify as a Train Trust they can have electric or diesel trains, trams and funiculars (eg Bridgnorth Cliff Railway) but they can’t be part of a mailine network and only one station or halt on any given trust can be counted.  Just take a picture of you and your bike at the station…  what’s that Simon you only take pictures of your bike… start again!

We know that Simon & Colin are going for it but wat about everyone else? Let me kow and I’ll publish a bi-monthly league table so you can see what you need to aim for.
